Jaxon really did it! He graduated on Wednesday. It was really nice. Now he just has to figure out what to do with his life!!

Fishing and tornadoe relief

Last week was another typical non-stop week. Monday and Tuesday were work and house cleaning days :). On Wednesday I drove up to Haverhill Ohio for meetings Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday we did a little more house work and then went fishing with our neighbors the Herrings. Cade caught his first two fish ever (ok, Brooks caught the first one and then gave Cade the pole :), but he caught the second one all by himself).

Kaitlyn caught her first four fish ever and she had a blast doing it!

Sadie was a non-stop stress machine. She was running back and forth on the dock and I can't believe she never fell into the water.

She did decide that she wanted to fish also, she laid down and stuck Kaitlyns pole in the water and then dropped it :) Kaitlyn threw a fit and sobbed for a couple minutes and then she got over it.

We had soooooo much fun. I've never really liked fishing but that's primarily because I never caught anything :). It was so great to see Kaitlyn and Cade actually catch fish.

After fishing we all went out to Meksico for dinner and then I headed to Chattanooga to help with the cleanup after the tornadoes a couple weeks ago. We camped out on the stake center softball field and then woke up and drove to Cleveland TN where we used chain saws, bobcats, and good old fashioned labor to remove trees and debris from peoples yards. It's really amazing how much devastation mother nature can inflict. I've never really been around tornadoes before but they are absolutely devastating.

We worked all day Saturday and Sunday and finally got home about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday (Mothers Day). Luckily I'd sent Cindy a couple of nice Mothers day letters on Facebook and e-mail. Also, I called and asked Kaitlyn to get a package out of the downstairs closet and give it to her. It was a great week!

Only one more day until Nate and Cindy leave for Idaho. Yippee!! I am ready. Only 5 more school days until Christmas Break.

One More Day in DC

Robert and I had a miscommunication about what time out flight home was. Ky relieved him at his meetings so that Robert and I could do some sight seeing. There was a mess up at the Archives with the records that I had ordered for the morning so Robert and I bagged the Archives and set out for the museums. My feet were killing from the walk the night before but we made it to the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of American History. Needless to say we only saw a small fraction of each before our flight out. We decided to we needed a week at the Archives and a week for sight seeing. I got to ride the Metro back to the airport. We passed the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery but there wasn't time to see either. Oh well! Another time maybe... Anyway thanks Grandpa and Grandma for the trip. I learned so much and it was a great experience.

Our Walking Tour of DC

After wasting a day in the airports and losing a day at the Archives, I decided that I better make the most of the time that I did have there. Robert and Ky had meetings all day. I got up and went down and asked how to get the National Archives. The luggage guy showed me a map and explained how to get there. I then asked how would be the best way to get there and he said, "Walk!" I thought to myself, I am a country hick from a small town like you have never seen. I have never even dreamed of a city this big and you want me walking around by myself? What if I get shot, mugged, kidnapped (because I am so gorgeous), etc. However, I didn't want to look like a chicken and so I decided to suck it up and walk. I paid very close attention to my little map, and made it there safely. The security around downtown DC is incredible. There are cops and security everywhere!!! It took almost an hour to get clearance to look at documents at the Archives. That in and of itself is a whole other story!! Anyhow, I spent all day looking at records that my ancestors had actually written and touch. It was awesome. I went with over 30 records that I wanted to look at but due to cancelled flights, and tons of red tape at the archives, I only got to look at 6. However, now I know more for next time! I will be able to use my time more wisely. That night, Robert and I followed Ky around downtown DC (he had spent the previous week there at different meetings). It was freezing cold outside and we walked forever!! I thought I was going to die. However, I am still alive and we saw some really neat things. We walked around for about 4 hours before returning to our hotel for a nightcap (juice, ice cream and cookies) in the "Club" before heading to bed.

Washington DC

Robert had meetings in Washington DC the first week of December. So as a Christmas present to me, his parents sent me along. I took a week off of school and was hoping to spend a few days doing genealogy in the National Archives. However, we got FOGGED in in SLC. Can you believe that. They cancelled our flight out due to fog. We did finally get out on Monday but then we spent the full day on an airplane or in Denver Airport. I was bummed! We made it to our hotel around midnight only to find out that our room was not ready (it was missing a door). So for our convenience they put is up in the "Club" rooms on the twelfth floor. It was so special that you had to swipe a card to get to that floor. Talk about awkward! The hotel was beautiful but we probably would have been more comfortable on the regular floors. However, we did find out that only on that floor, if you swiped your card again, you could get into a "Club" room where we could have free breakfast, snacks, juices, cookies, etc. It was pretty fancy. In fact, it was so fancy that we decided that we'd never have another experience like it. I made Robert buy me room service breakfast, just so that I could say that I had actually had room service before. Weird, huh???

They are buried in unmarked graves over by these two tall trees. It was so quiet and peaceful here. There was a stream running past, tall pine trees on 3 sides and a field on the other. I loved it. We also stopped and saw the intersection where Phillip Harmon was struck and killed by a car. Weird, huh?

When Grandma Peterson passed away in 1996, I felt a strong urge to copy all of her Book of Remembrances. I did not know why. I cared nothing for genealogy. But I listened to the spirit and copied everything. Including an old deed for a cemetary plot. I destinctly having to talk myself into copying it because I felt that it was of no worth. Well, what do I know? Anyhow, This deed has probably proved to be one of the most valuable pieces of information that I did copy that day. Anyhow, to make a long story short, Seth and Bert, humored me and let me stop and see this cemetery on our way home from Grandma Stoehr's funeral. Our Great Great Grandpa Philip Harmon is buried here, as is his wife and one month old son that was no where in our genealogy. There are no head stones on these graves but the sexton was kind enough to humor me and brave the rain and come and show us where the graves where located. It was such a neat experience for me. Thanks guys!!!!

This is the "cottage" where we spent our vacation in Michigan. Built in 1902, it was not a cottage at all (by my standards of what cottages) :-) When I walked in, all I could think was "this smells just like Grandma Hammonds house." It was incredible!

Last night I was walking down the hall with Sadie, holding her in my left arm and asking her to give me five over and over again. Each time she would swing her left hand at mine and giggle. I turned around, placed Sadie in my right arm and asked her to give me five. She lifted her left hand, swung it straight forward, smacked me in the face and giggled. :)

This morning she woke up before I left for work so I got her out of bed and took her downstairs with me. She was sitting on my lap and I was feeding her yogurt. After each bite she would look up at me, smile with her BIG cheesy grin and squinted eyes, and giggle. She is so dang cute!! I love being a dad!!!

It's been a pretty eventful March. The weather is finally nice out so we went camping (turned into the kids first slumber party), cooked dutch oven potatoes & bbq chicken, took a day trip to Fort Loudon, went fishing, went out on the boat (1st time of the year), spent lots of time on the trampoline, got the rabbit fence up around the garden, & went paintballing with the scouts.

From 2/20 to 3/5 Nate was in India (Mumbai, Pune, Kolkatta, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Haldia, & Delhi. Trains, plains, & automobiles. Quite the experience (cows, poverty, monkeys, CRAZY drivers, festival holi, missionary experience (not the sharing the gospel kind :), very productive business trip)).

For spring break the Tanners came over. We went skeet shooting, paintballing, to the jump house, to Johnson City to eat dinner & visit with Brian and Kathy, and started our own polar bear club for Jordans birthday :) Good times.

So we haven't posted in a really long time but I want to bulletize some of the things we've done over the past few months and hopefully I'll get around to writing more later. Since last post:
* Nate went to India for two weeks for work.
* The Tanners (Cindys sisters family) came to visit for spring break. We went skeet shooting, paintballing, to the bounce house, and to see Brian & Kathy in Johnson City.
* Camping / paintballing with the scouts above the Tellico Trout Hatchery (17 boys & 7 adults). Great time!!
* Slumber party at the Pulvers :)

It's been a very fun couple months. It's good to be back :)

January was a really fun month (other than the fact that the kids have been sick for 1/2 of it. Ok the beginning and end was fun :)). We went over to Nashville and spent the weekend with some friends. We'd gone to the temple and when we came back it was hilarious to see how the kids fell asleep. We also went around the Vanderbilt campus looking at the geese and the squirrels.

We went for a walk the other day and it was cute to see Kaitlyn pushing Cade & Sadie in their strollers. Then this weekend it snowed so I pulled the kids up and down the street in a laundry basket. Our neighbor saw us and brought our a real sled for us to use for a while :)

Benjamin made school shopping incredibly easy. I planned on spending the morning shopping, but one trip to Target....badabing...we were back at the house and they were back in the pool....I think Target opens at 9....they were swimming by 10!

The boys came to Tucson the week before school to do their school shopping, to go hiking, and to SWIM!

We had a friend take pictures and right before pictures, Nathan was walking Byron (dog) when he bolted after some javelina (the dog, not Nathan.) Nathan was pulled to the ground and had a band aid on his elbow for the pictures and was none to happy about it.

I went to Sunnyvale for Benjamin's piano recital (which, if you didn't hear about it, he did great and I actually got to hear it even though my first flight was delayed by 3 hours and they when I got to the recital, everyone knew I was late because they were waiting for B to play.) We got to see Nim's Island on the recommendation of Grandma (the boys loved it..especially the flying lizards.)

Congratulations on your new job, Corri. I hope you get to take Bert with you.

Kaitlyn loves it when Cindy plays the piano. She'll dance, sing, try to play a duet, and the other day she decided to show off how far she's come.

She's usually kind an gentle but she has her sassy side.

Mom and Dad came up this weekend to visit with Aunt Anne. They said she is in very good spirits and she is going on their family cruise next week no matter what. They've talked to the ship and if she dies on board they said they'll take care of it.
After visiting with Anne for a while they came up here and spent the night. We played a few games, Cindy made a wonderful dinner, and Kaitlyn and Cade were quite entertaining. Right before we took this vidoe I was spinning Kaitlyn and when I stood her up she fell straight over. I picked her up and she did it again. It was pretty funny and she loved it.

Hi everyone..Just uploaded my Jan picts and thought I would share some... Our month has been Hayli's attitude, trying to teach LIncoln "personal space". Especially when it comes to Porter-failing miserably, visits from g'ma & g'pa. Pretty much it's been a crazy month.. BUT.. Glen did finish his practicals and passed them all, so hopefully this week life should get a little more normal for him. Hayli has been playing with lots of friends lately. It's crazy that she is old enough to have friends? Lincoln's new favorite word is NO, but.. He's been a little better the last few days too.. Porter is starting to sleep a little better at night now-YEAH... Hayli just got to feed him a bottle tonight and she was so excited, she is definitely mommies big helper!! She LOVES to sit and hold him, it's very helpful most of the time.Then I just love the pict of Uncle Kelly. They came to mom & dads the night of Porter's blessing. Hayli was pretending to "teach" us so good ole uncle Kelly sat on that little Kelly sat on that little chair and totally humored her, he listened and sang primary songs with her for awhile. No wonder he is everyones favorit uncle !!

Hi everyone..just thought I'd say hi and put some Jan. picts up.. Glen withPorter on the blessing day. Glen and the kids all bundled up for a walk. Yes, Porter is under Glen's coat in the carrier. Lincoln painting and modeling Hayli's undies.. and the last pict. of Porter totally reminds me of Konnor at first glance.. wierd..
I also thought I'd post a yummy soup recipe just found..
Place veggies (160z) frzn broc, caul, carrots (and i did potatos too) and 2 cans chicken broth in saucepan; cover. bring to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 min or until tender. Mash veggies to desired consistency. stir in 12 oz velveeta cheese and cook 5 min or until melted, stirring frequently. Then we ate it in bread bowls. It was way yummy. Just got it from th new kraft recipe book. Let me k now what you thinkif you try it..

Hey everyone,

I hope life is good after the holidays. It was great to see everyone. I hope we really can work it out and go to Yellowstone or something next summer. Anyways, we're back and busy. School started this week and I had a few unexpected things fall into place last week so I'm back to graduating in April instead of October/December and I'm pretty excited about that.

Thanks mom for keeping Cindy and Corri warm. And thanks Cindy and Corri for our sweet new shorts.

The whole vacation thing wiped Kaitlyn out. Good thing she can get on her new bed whenever she wants.

porter taft... he's doing good. just took him to get circumsized, poor guy.. and for his 1 month appt. he was 7.14 and 21 1/2 inches long. he's doing good.. still a little yellow eyes, but off the billy blankt and everything. the fact tha i'm writing this at 1:30 am tells you he is a stinker sleeper at night.. he likes to sleep durig the day though-actually he sleep good at night if glen is here and could get up with him, but like during the week he's a stinker, and tonight glen is gone on his ride around, so of course, he's gonna be up all night.. oh well :) good thing we love him..
most people say he looks like me.. mom thinks he looks like seth..hopefully that goes away :)

well we had a pretty good chritmas here. we got cars and a big rug in our stockings, which the kids loved and played with for a while before moving on. lincolns highlight was his vacuum and hayli had fun with the dress up stuff from gma.

hi everyone.. hope everyone had a good (& cold) thanksgiving.. ours was nice. it was nice to have mom & dad and gpa & gma here. glen & mom did all the cooking and did pretty dang good-then we ate left overs for a week. hayli had a fun 4th bday & even helped daddy make her cake. glenis working swings this week learning about duis.. the city does like open bar thing last night and tonight and people come get drunk for free and then the academy gets to test them. he said itwas pretty entertaining last night.. so we'll seewhat tonight brings. he is still loving it and doing really great in everything. he is getting ready to start breakout weeks, which means like defensive tactics one week, evoc (driving) another week, the range.. bla bla.. so i'm a little nervous about baby coming and getting a hold of him and him getting there and then getting back w/out missing to much?? hopefully he'll work with usand just come on a friday night :)

i went to the doctor on monday and he pretty much said next week i could be done with bedrest. i think he said wednesday, so i took that as monday.. but i think i've decided i'mgonna go out a little bit tommorow-i'm so tired of our house.. he said if i make it till the 10th we'll do my next appt then and he wants to do an ultrasound to check babies positionand size. he thinks he may have turned back up breech, so we'll see. i think he's really just ultrasound happy. this wll be #4... oh well.

the kids are doing good. kinda tired of being cooped up too. mom's beencoming down and that's been nice, glen took them to the park to play in the rain this morning and of course they loved that. but pretty much all is well-not sure while this was a novel-the kids are playing good unfolding all the blankets mom made for the baby... so i guess i'm just enjoying the peace.

Just thought that we would check in and wish everyone a happy thanksgiving. Now that we are invited again Ill try to keep you in touch with us. We are doing really well. It is a little cold today. At 1:00pm when we started eating our thanksgiving dinner it was 28 degrees outside. It was only 10 degrees this morning when we got up. We don't have any snow, but its a little chilly outside. We are hoping to get a contractor in here in a week or so to get started on our basement, and we are still waiting to get the floor poured to the shop. I think the cold is holding them up a little. Hopefully it warms up enough to at least get it done. They can build it in the cold, but concrete and cold don't mix to well. Anyway everything is good here in the cold country. Happy Thanksgiving.

here is glen in his academy uniform although he has lost some pounds since this pict.. he's doing awesome. i'm so proud of him!!

then our little halloween kids. hayli was a "nice" witch since it was pink. you had to put nice in front or it was serious. lincoln quite enjoyed the whole thing.i thought he would kinda whatever.. but after a few cars at the trunkor treat he was right behind hayli everytime with his bucket up in someones face saying some form of trick or treat or roaring.. it was pretty cute.

it was reallyfun to see cms race this last weekend. he did awesome and i was very very impressed!! i think george finished in like 5 1/2 hrs. cm was 6hrs 36 minutes and ally was 7hrs.. if you ask me they are all freaks.. but i'm still jealous i can't do it. there was a guy at the swim in a kilt... that does make me wonder what kind of freaks really do like this stuff (just kidding cm) the kilt guy wasfunny though.. that'll have to be next blog..

all is well here. hating the bed rest thing. but trying to do good since i wasn't to good last weekend. at my appt on the 1st baby was 4lbs 7oz.. have an appt tomorrow.. so we'll see what they say???

hayli and lincoln both love the videos nate.. keep up the good work.. hopefully we'll get some on here soon :)
